Gaby, worth looking at OpenCPN FREE chart software from their website.
It will work with CM93v2 and ENC vector charts (free for USA)
Also works with Raster charts.

When I tried to extract mampedia-patch.exe, Norton blocked its extract and complained "Autoprotect protected you from a high security threat trojan horse"
is the threat real or mis Norton being paranoid? If paranoid, what's the workarouind?

Phenomenal offering, huge Kudos to Mr. Anonymous
BTW Usagi_Chan, it is difficult to say that there is definitely a trojan in the file, but from experience, modern antivirus programs are set to detect key generators.
One way around this is to use the open source Clam software, which may be a little more honest in what it labels as infected files. So one way around it would be to install ClamAV and disable real time protection, but to use it for scanning these types of files, while the Symantec software was disabled. The other way would be to get rid of Norton and send the subscription money in to Clam as a donation, and use their software full time, it is far less intrusive.
